Tracy Morrice
CHAIR
Tracy was born and raised in North East Glasgow, so being part of NERC means a lot to her. Tracy spent her career in drug and alcohol services, working in residential rehab, community projects and supported housing. She has done a bit of everything — from volunteering to frontline then management and leadership roles — and seen first-hand the impact addiction can have on individuals, families and entire communities. Tracy is passionate about ensuring there’s no wrong door when someone reaches out for help, and that people have real opportunities to rebuild their lives through positive connections.
'Our lived experience volunteers play a vital role in this — their honesty, compassion and encouragement are at the heart of what makes NERC special. As Chairperson, my aim is to support NERC to grow, stay true to its lived-experience roots, and continue offering support that genuinely makes a difference'

David Brockett
TREASURER
David Brockett has spent more than 27 years working across social care, supporting people through challenges related to homelessness, mental health, and alcohol and drug use. Much of that time—15 years—was dedicated to residential rehabilitation, where he spent a decade as a Service Manager.
Based in Glasgow, David is an active voice in the sector. He sits on the board of the North East Recovery Community (NERC) and serves as Deputy Chair of the Voluntary Sector for Drug & Alcohol Agencies in Greater Glasgow. He also represents the third sector at the Glasgow ADP Strategic Group. In addition, David co-chairs the Recovery & Residential Providers Group and is a long-standing member of the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum (CJVSF).

Ann-Marie Newman
SECRETARY
At college Ann-Marie studied languages and business. Her past working life is very varied, she worked as an Accountant’s Assistant, a Lawyer’s P.A., a Marketing Coordinator, a Numeracy & Literacy Tutor until finally she found the Voluntary Sector. Ann-Marie volunteered and then worked in the mental health sector for 13 years which helped her to learn more about Mental Health and the contribution that people using the services and those who care for them have to make. She fully believe in partnership working whether on a local, national or international basis – no one group can make services better by themselves.
Ann-Marie has worked on her own recovery for the last 13 years and has gained some fantastic personal insights into recovery from mental health and addictions.
My favourite saying is “We all have ability. The difference is how we use it.” Stevie Wonder
