Our Recovery Cafes

Get Involved!

North East Recovery Community has five recovery cafes situated across the North East of Glasgow. Each of our cafés are run by our dedicated team of volunteers and offer individuals recovering from addiction and their family a safe and friendly environment to meet.

All our cafes run various groups and complimentary therapies such as Recovery Meetings, CA meetings and Acu-Detox.

Everyone is welcome to pop along to our recovery cafes and meet our volunteers and get peer led advice and support as well as some lunch and a cup of tea.

Jim's  Addiction Recovery Café

JARC (Jim’s Addiction Recovery Café) was named in honour of former NERC volunteer Jim McArthur who was an integral part of the former Charlie Canning Recovery Café. Jim sadly passed away in July 2021 and to remember him his friends at Charlie Canning came up with the idea of renaming the café in Jim’s honour.

JARC opened at the new location of the G.E.S.H in Easterhouse on Monday 6th December 2021  and recently moved to a new location in May 2023 at Garthamlock & Craigend Parish Church.
