Welcome to North East Recovery Community

North East Recovery Community are based in the Bridgeton area of Glasgow. Our brand new recovery hub was recently opened at 20 Broad Street with the aim of offering people from the North East of Glasgow a place to come and learn more about what services NERC offer.

NERC run five successful recovery cafes, a running group and an arts and crafts group across the North East of the city, which are all ran by volunteer's. We also have online Meditation on Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

 

Our Recovery cafes are a safe and confidential place for individuals and their family members who are recovering from addiction, to get practical and emotional support and advice. We are an inclusive charity that welcomes everyone who attends our cafes.

 

In June this year we finally got to reopen the doors to our recovery cafes and welcome people back. RENEW ladies recovery café was the first to reopen followed by PARC one of the busiest cafes in the city. Since then our volunteers have reopened both NERD as well as JARC our newest recovery café formally known as Charlie Canning. In February 2022 SPARC was the final recovery café to reopen it's doors.

In October 2021 NERC welcomed two new Recovery Outreach Workers Mark and Margaret who provide support, advice and guidance for those looking to access recovery. Mark and Margaret both have their own lived experience of addiction and can offer peer led support. Self referrals can be made to our outreach workers or referrals can be made through other agencies.
